As a lingerie designer, clearly I am a huge fan, consumer and connoisseur of women's underwear. I think gorgeous lingerie is THE sexiest gift to give and recieve...Agent Provocateur kills it this season with the back heart lace satin panties ($80.00). Yes, its a lot for undies but this is THE most luxurious lingerie brand. They'll wrap it in pink and black 1930s style gift boxes along with their current catalog which usually includes beautifully illustrated ladies kissing in their skivies. One of the best places for a Valentines gift...

OK, so I know what you're thinking..Drink and surf the net before a big date:WTF?
no, no. I was recently explaining to my friend, who we'll call Butch Cassidy, that I used to "pre-game" my dates by going to the neighbourhood the night before to assess the area, how long it took to get there, what bars were near the restaraunt for a cocktail afterward etc...so i'd look super-suave the night of the date
BUT this AWESOME new website: www.walkscore.com
allows you to type in any address and find out what bars, restaraunts, even drugstores are in the vicinity and how close all these things are to walk to...It even gives a "walkability" score if you are deciding between locations
check it out before your next night out!!!

One of my absolute FAVOURITE holidays is almost here!! I'm a big fan of the extravagant...For Christmas I put together a scavenger hunt that started with clues and presents in a lady's apartment and led through the city (via hired towncar) to a martini bar downtown. The bartender served my date a drink and a cartier bracelet while I waited at the rear of the bar....
If you will be in NYC this V-day: some of the best Valentines spots are:

Summer dates can be sooo much easier to plan with all the great outdoor cafes and rooftop bars in NYC...but the Library Hotel has kept its romantic rooftop lounge open year round.
"Bookmarks," named for it library garden theme, is a glass enclosed rooftop bar on the 14th floor of the Library Hotel in midtown.
The bar specializes in winter drinks (like apple cider hot toddies and cafe and cachaca) and offers an outdoor fireplace, making it the perfect spot for a winter night out.

I remember when I first moved to NYC and found myself mindlessly walking down 5th Ave and ended up in front of the Versace store where Madonnas 20ft ads were gleaming in the window...
I'm looking forward to another religious experience this Spring when Louis Vuitton launches their S'09 campaign with Madge as their poster girl. The photos were shot by Stephen Meisel who collaborated on Madonna's SEX book.
Is it March yet????
Sadly, today is the last day of Rockefeller Center's Swarovski Star.
If you were avoiding the area during the zombie-like tourist attack during the month of December go take a peek before she's gone tomorrow.
Oh if only Madge was gonna be there for the closing ceremonies...

Ok,so I know I usually try to keep this date related and fluffy...but I am a big closet nerd when it comes to positive/creative thinking type books. In addition to starting my own philosophy of Carbala (including a blue Tiffany's string wrist band and steps to increase willpower against refined carbs), I'm actually also a huge fan and practitioner of the Secret and all the Esther & Gerry Hicks books. Needless to say, I have been dying to get my tiny, Marc Jacob gloved-hands on this book.
Though I can't really give a review as it's just being released today, 1/9, I am really excited to go grab Ken Robisnson's the Element on my lunch break.
The Element stresses the power of creativity, individual attitude and aptitude and how to constructively combine them for ultimate happiness...basically how to find what you love and spend your life doing it...Robinson interviews creative types ranging from The Alchemist's Paolo Coehlo to Paul McCartney and Vidal Sasson.
Get yours today so we can discuss!!!!

If you tried to surprise your sweetie with the Door Jam Cuffs below and she was less than impressed, you might need to make it up to her with a *slightly* more romantic gesture.
The Supple Spa offers an awesome couples massage for $130.00. The all inclusive package includes a glass of champagne upon arrival in the spa's massage chair reception room, followed by wine in a rose petal filled couples massage room with side by side tables. Each of you can choose either a 60 minute deep tissue or Swedish massage.
55 W. 19th Street, 2nd Floor
If you're the type who wants to experiment with toys but aren't really good at (or into) tricky assemblies and installations this one is for you.
Babeland's $30.00 Door Jam Cuffs come completely assembled, just hang the metal rod over your bedroom door, close it and you are good to go. (Also easy to remove and hide when mom comes to visit)
I've already recommended this one to a couple of FND fans who seem to be enjoying it.

I consider myself to be an Elle Woods type blonde
ie) I love pink swarovski-ed things AND graduated valedictorian of my class.
We do exist...
That being said I can take a blonde joke; especially if its pink and witty. But this 50.00 keyboard, while fun to look at with key titles like "The Big One" on the space bar and "Useless key" for the tab button seems like it would be nearly impossible to use (Like learning to play Dance Dance revolution with your fingers at the office)
I prefer to stick to my Hello Kitty keyboard....

In 2009 I've decided to
1) drink less
2) stop indulging in secret late night snacks -made easier with the success of resolution #1
3) stop buying terrible porn
What seemed like a promising internet purchase (perhaps the clearance price should have clued me in) turned out to be a huge let down.
I can't even recommend this one to my straight male readers...True there are "no boys allowed" in the video but these women don't even touch. They dance close to each other in showers and bedrooms....you'll see more girl on girl action in a PINK video.
I give this one two french manicured thumbs DOWN!

So my 2 fans have been complaining and I apologize for my december laziness...
Due to mine and Jesus's birth celebrations as well as New Years outfit creations (far left:) ) I did a little too much celebrating
and not enough blogging. But as my favourite astrologist Susan Miller told me
that is all set to change in '09....
